Made in China
Every year, students on the Photojournalism course at Oslo & Akershus University College get together to produce a book that documents their work from a travel assignment. In 2016, nine students travelled to various locations in China. They each focused on a specific subject or subculture within the vast nation.
Book design + type
Entitled Made in China, the book's primary focus is the photography, displayed in a large and unobstructed format. Adding a subtle graphic element throughout the book, an English-meets-Chinese style of typography was developed for the cover titles and photographers' names.
In order to equally represent the photographers, a transparent plastic pocket is mounted on the front cover for one of nine postcards to be applied. The postcard can be pulled out to reveal part of the title graphic underneath.
The 186-page hardback book was published in a limited run of 400 copies.
